I finally finished this book today, after more than a month of steady progress.  In terms of getting myself acquainted with WPF, this book does an excellent job, especially with including basic details for beginners like me.  However, the content is sometimes a little bit messy, with regards to organization.  My thinking is that, due to the large, readable fonts, the pretty pictures and code fragments, and the helpful boxes, some compromises had to be made, and some of the content had to be rearranged, so that the whole book would be coherent.  That takes a lot of balancing.  But, I think the author does a good job with explaining everything in adequate detail, and the sample code has been a great help in showing exactly how it's done.  Next, I'll get my hands wet with the code, probably develop some programs using WPF, and register to take the certification exam.  Exciting.
