The cute little baby is all growed up. Yesterday was his second birthday, and comparing him now with a year ago, the difference is stark. Time passed by so quickly this year.
This year, he learned to walk and is starting to talk. He started going to daycare, and is much more comfortable now being around unfamiliar people. He greets people, which was something I was always very bad at as a kid. There are many other things that he takes after me. He began the habit of keeping food in his mouth for long periods of time. Not chewing or swallowing, but just lingering in his mouth. Maybe it's genetics, because this was something I would do, but it doesn't seem to be a common behavior. He is a daredevil and does dangerous things simply for the challenge. He plays with the playground that is designed for older kids. That is also similar to me, though he's not as careful. He's very careful when doing dangerous things and rarely gets hurt. However, at times when he isn't paying attention, he'll randomly fall over and hurt himself. He used to not cry, but I feel that since going to daycare, he's been influenced by the kids around him crying and getting what they want, and so he's acquired that skill.
He started watching TV, and is addicted to Cocomelon, specifically "Wheels on the Bus" and "Old Macdonald". Hopefully, we are able to suppress this urge, but its effects are palpable. To counter this, I try to take him outside as much as possible. He's experienced a swimming pool for the first time this year, and loves going there. He will put a swimming diaper in front of me whenever he wants to go to the pool. He loves playing with balls, and even will say, "ball".
Most recently, he is trying to jump, but hasn't gotten his balance figured out yet. But, when he's excited, he will try to jump up and down. He loves running and exploring outside. He's a very active kid, and I hope he will maintain this level of activity to stay fit.
In general, he has a great attitude. I hope I never have to spank him, but there's been times when he's been stubborn. He's turning into a rugrat!
