The past month, I rolled over my 401k from my previous company into a Roth IRA that I created on E*Trade. This was my first foray into the stock market. Thus far, in the two days I've owned stocks, I made $20 the first day, and lost $24 the second. Guess it'll continue to go up and down. This is a major milestone for me, because up until now, I had intended on avoiding the stock market, seeing what happened in 2001 and 2007. And now, I am also putting a stake into this... fiction.
On the other hand, this month, I also bought my ideal laptop/tablet convertible. I went back to my tried and true company - Toshiba, and bought a Portege z20t. I must say, they hit all the right points with this one. It is a winner. Interestingly, there are many similarities between it and the Porteges I already own starting from the 3110ct all the way up to the R830.
In terms of battery life, performance, and portability, this machine satisfies all my needs. Very happy with it.
Other than that, I have continued to spend too much money eating out. However, I will be abstaining from such frivolous behavior starting now. I plan to buy a Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 in 3 years. So, I had better pay off the house as fast as possible. Instead of eating out, I will clean my room with my free time.
Finally, I'm thinking about embarking again on a new job search, since it's only a matter of time before we need to move, and I am led to believe the new location will not result in a shorter commute.
