Today marks yet the next step in my arduous job search - a job offer. Yes sir, after 3 long months (a summer break's worth of time), a company has made an offer to hire me.
These months were a time of trial, I must say, but of a very different kind than what most people would imagine. While most people like to rest and enjoy life, I enjoy working and learning. To be at home with nothing to do is harder than to spend my time putting in a good day's worth of work.
These months were also a time of learning: learning to trust in the Lord, and to rest in Him. For the first time, I could actually say that I had nothing. Psalms 73 became experiential to me, though not voluntarily. Still, I appreciated this opportunity to experience a deeper aspect of the Lord than anything I had previously known.
Well, now it seems that the Lord has given me a job. My prayer is that this job would not usurp me or become in me of more importance than the Lord, but instead, would be a further opportunity for me to gain the Lord.
