My only begotten child has survived one month, and he's still an adorable little baby boy. The first week was the hardest. Here, we had the failure to communicate. It took some getting used to, but I believe we now have a mutual understanding. Usually, he's either hungry, has gas, or has trouble pooping. I can help with the first two, but he has to resolve the last one all on his own. Sometimes, leaving him alone to cry it out, and he'll reboot, and that's the best solution. Babies are strange.

he's very confused after coming out into the outside world

Crying is not as bad as it sounds. Our baby Joseph was gifted with healthy lungs. He's able to project his voice. Unfortunately, that means his cries of distress often sound more urgent than they really are. I've experienced him crying like he's about to die one second and then being quiet and happy the very next. I suppose whatever he's feeling is written on his face. The source of his desperate cries could be as simple as him trying his best to squeeze out his digested meals.

his bowel movement face

Overall, he's a good baby boy who is typically quiet, but seems to have trouble keeping food down while laying flat. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix that.

there's not a single thought going on up there

He's the happiest and cutest when he's eating. Next, when he's sleeping. The sadism within me even find his crying cute, but that's probably not a mainstream opinion.

S and M?

Sometimes, I think he's a kitten when he curls up. I'm looking forward to seeing him grow up, and seeing what he'll become.

He's scheming to get himself some milk

This first month has been exhausting, but he's a joy to work with, and I'm sure he's just as frustrated with me sometimes as I am of him, on account of him not being able to properly convey his thoughts, nor understand mine.

he's thanking the Lord for the meal

Wife is also doing well and recovering. I thank the Lord that our experience has been relatively painless thus far. My parents and her parents being present have also been a huge help, though it took some getting used to.

There's much room to grow
