To say that I've been busy for the past half year would be an understatement. While true, I've also had surprisingly little to talk about. Work, hobbies, and life were all the same as before. In some areas, things improved, but these were evolutionary, as opposed to revolutionary. Above all else, there were few notable events in these past few months. However, now is as good of a time as ever to mention the few notable events that did happen during this timeframe.

My cousin got married over the Labor Day weekend. This was my first time attending a wedding in a long time; first time attending it with my whole family; and it was in the middle of a pandemic. It was awkward, but my uncle and cousins helped to make me feel comfortable. The trip was pleasant. Our family road tripped up through the Great Plains, and I discovered that America looks similar and familiar no matter where you go.

I parted ways with my first girlfriend for the last and final time shortly before Thanksgiving. The experience was less than ideal but, ideally, it laid to rest any hope for a future together. I'm grateful for the time we spent together and I treasure all the memories and experiences. However, it was abundantly clear that we were on different paths and though our paths intersected, our destinies were not the same. I wish for her happiness. May she live long and prosper.

Even though ending the relationship was the right move, getting used to being single again took time. I've been dedicating the time we used to spend together on my hobbies. Staying busy and productive. In the almost three years we were together, it seems that my upward trend had stopped. Now, it's resuming, and I'm glad to be back.
